Who were the Vikings? We mostly hear about their ferocious raids in Europe, but there was much more. This lecture by Milo Turaylich discusses their cutting-edge technology in ship-building, raids, social life, burials, and art. Also included are their language, the Icelandic Sagas, and Viking settlements in North America, especially the L?Anse aux Meadows in Newfoundland.
The Renaissance Society of Sacramento provides opportunities for participatory lifelong learning and community engagement for older adults. These learning opportunities include programs on a wide variety of subjects, from serious to amusing, proposed and presented by members.
