Join the largest book club on the West Coast and find programming inspired by "They Called Us Enemy" at your local library.
Join us while we explore different STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) activities and projects. This program is designed for kids (ages 6-12). No registration is necessary; drop-ins are welcome. This month we are making art from found items like shells, rocks, string, and wood, inspired by the book The Art of Gaman: Arts and Crafts from the Japanese American Internment Camps 1942-1946 by Delphine Hirasuna.
One Book, One Coast is a shared community reading program that celebrates historical learning and reflection, encourages community conversations, and promotes civil discourse. The featured title is They Called Us Enemy by George Takei, Steven Scott, and Justin Eisinger and illustrated by Harmony Becker.
