About the presentation – Join Dr. Norv Wellsfry, a college professor and docent at the Sacramento State Railroad Museum, as he discusses the importance of railroads in shaping the West. He will delve into the evolution of western railroads, beginning with the transcontinental railroad, and highlight the vital contributions of Chinese workers. Additionally, he’ll examine the significance of the Comstock Lode in Nevada and its influence on railroads around Lake Tahoe, as well as explore various logging railroads in the Tahoe and Sierra regions.

Franklin Library is a hybrid joint-use library with the Franklin High School Library. Customers must sign in when using the library during school hours. The library has a gender-neutral restroom. Parking is shared between the library, Franklin High and Toby Johnson Middle School.
