Learn how to watercolor mushrooms and fungi with a professional artist!
Join local artist Jennifer Peart as she shows you how to capture the likeness of mushrooms and fungi through this all-ages, all-levels watercolor workshop. Explore the fantastical forms, vivid colors, and textured caps of the fungus among us as you learn to depict them using watercolor techniques. All supplies will be provided and participants will go home with their own original creation! Registration required for this event. Participants under 8 must be accompanied by a guardian. This program is funded by the Friends of the Library.
Jennifer Peart is a Sacramento-based artist and experienced educator with over 12 years of teaching in public schools, including Sacramento City public Waldorf schools. As a visionary landscape painter, she specializes in merging natural landscapes with architectural elements, using watercolor, oil, and mixed media to explore the reciprocal relationship between humans and the environment.
Beyond the classroom, Jennifer leads public and private workshops for all ages throughout the greater Sacramento area, Sierra Nevadas, and Yosemite Valley. She has worked with organizations such as Sol Collective, the Sacramento Public Library, and Latino Outdoors to provide engaging, hands-on learning experiences. Passionate about fostering creativity and a connection to nature, Jennifer creates a welcoming space for artists of all levels to explore watercolor techniques with confidence and curiosity.
