Carmichael
Carmichael Meeting RoomJoin State Parks staff for a look back in American River, covering the history of the Gold Rush towns that are now under the surface of Folsom Lake.
Join State Parks Interpreter Zak for a view of historic sites around Folsom Lake Recreation Area, stepping back in through the lens of a camera. Join for a talk about the historical communities that lined the American River, many of which have disappeared below the surface of Folsom Lake, only to reappear during low water times. Compare photographs from today to historic photos of Gold Rush era settlements and see the lives built in our local area, and what you may find if you visit those locations now. Step through history and hear stories from the 1850s and beyond.
