The talk will provide a general overview of the 3 types of DNA tests (Autosomal, Mitochondrial, and Y chromosome). It will cover the basic properties, glossary of terms, as well as a discussion of the inheritance patterns for each one. The strategic use, limitations, and misconceptions in genealogical research will also be explored. The majority of the time will focus on strategies in using autosomal which is the most common and popular for most people.
