Description: In this witty and genre-blending debut novel, this story follows an unnamed civil servant who joins a secret UK government agency that rescues "time-refugees" (people snatched from historical death traps) and brings them to present day London. As they assist a 19th-century Arctic explorer adjust to modern life, a romance starts to blossom. As they navigate culture shock and bureaucracy, they start to uncover deeper secrets about the agency.
