A presentation featuring members from the Renaissance Society of Sacramento.
The Renaissance Society of Sacramento provides opportunities for participatory lifelong learning and community engagement for older adults. These learning opportunities include programs on a wide variety of subjects, from serious to amusing, proposed and presented by members.
This program is neither sponsored nor endorsed by the Sacramento Public Library.
About the presentation – Join speaker Milo Turaylich from the Renaissance Society as he discusses the history and culture of the Vikings. Did you know that the term "Viking" comes from a location called Viken in the Oslo fjord of Norway? Over time, this word became associated with piracy, and the Vikings earned a long-lasting reputation as brutal looters for nearly a thousand years. They were not only raiders but also colonizers, being the first to settle in North America long before Christopher Columbus.
