Speaker Evan Wilson will give a Zoom presentation on the use of land records for genealogy research in the Southern States.
Research in the American South, Part 1: Land Records, with speaker Evan Wilson
Are you interested in researching Southern ancestors but feeling daunted by the perceived challenges? This two-part series will help you overcome that barrier and get comfortable with research in the American South. Part 1 will focus on the various ways people acquired, occupied, or disposed of land, not all of which are easily documented. In addition to the standard deeds, grants, etc., it will cover messier situations such as silent transfers, squatting, renting, etc.
This program will take place on Zoom. Register in advance for this meeting by clicking on the link below. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.
