Ballet performance and local author event.
Enjoy a ballet performance and dance-inspired movement activities at the Southgate Library. Local author Dr. JaNay Brown-Wood will also read her book “Brown Girls Do Ballet: Celebrating Diverse Girls Taking Center Stage,” which features photography of young ballerinas of color by TaKiyah Wallace-McMillian.
Attendees will receive a copy of “Brown Girls Do Ballet” to keep and participate in art activities inspired by the book.
Although Dr. Brown-Wood’s book is intended for children ages 4 – 8, all ages are welcome. This event is free. No registration is required.
